AAPA, PAL to host APASS in Manila

The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA), in partnership with Philippine Airlines (PAL), is set to host the prestigious Asia Pacific Aviation Safety Seminar (APASS) on September 10-11, 2025, at the Hilton Manila.

APASS, AAPA’s premier safety forum, serves as a key gathering for safety professionals across the Asia Pacific region, bringing together AAPA member airlines, regulators, manufacturers, maintenance and repair organizations (MROs), and solution providers. The seminar provides a platform for the airline community to share insights and collaborate on safety issues that impact the aviation industry.

The theme for APASS 2025, “Safety Without Borders: Global Partnerships, Local Impact,” will focus on key safety topics such as operational resilience, human factors, safety leadership, and the risks emerging from technology advancements. Discussions will also address evolving airspace threats, including spoofing, fatigue management, and data integration.

“As aviation safety challenges continue to grow in complexity, our shared commitment to collaboration, data sharing, and cross-disciplinary learning is becoming increasingly important,” said Subhas Menon, Director General of AAPA. “APASS 2025 offers a unique opportunity for the Asia Pacific safety community to address urgent safety concerns and strengthen cooperation across all safety domains. We are excited to partner with Philippine Airlines to host this vital event in Manila.”

Capt. Daniel Oliver M. de Castro, Assistant Vice President for Safety at Philippine Airlines, also emphasized the importance of the event. “Bringing together key aviation industry stakeholders is essential to advancing our collective commitment to safety,” he said. “The Asia Pacific Aviation Safety Seminar will help reinforce passenger trust in the reliability and safety of air travel, which is crucial for the continued growth of the aviation industry.”

AAPA invites all aviation safety professionals and stakeholders from across the Asia Pacific region and beyond to participate in the seminar. Together, they will work toward a safer, more secure, and sustainable future for the aviation industry.
