AUF PRESIDENT DR. JOSEPH EMMANUEL L. ANGELES NAMED UNESCO COMMISSIONER

Angeles University Foundation (AUF) President Dr. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles has been appointed as a Commissioner of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

This prestigious role recognizes Dr. Angeles’ outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing education, science, culture, communication, and social and human sciences—values closely aligned with UNESCO’s mission.

As a UNESCO Commissioner, Dr. Angeles will contribute to the development of programs and initiatives aimed at driving national and global progress, particularly in the education sector. He joins a select group of esteemed individuals tasked with providing expert guidance, fostering collaboration, and promoting UNESCO’s initiatives to create meaningful change.

Under the UNACOM Charter, the Commission is composed of representatives from private organizations, government agencies, presidential appointees, and ex-officio members from the Senate and House education committees. Their key responsibilities include:
✅ Advising the Secretariat on relevant policies and programs.
✅ Crafting initiatives that align with UNESCO’s global goals and the Philippines’ local context.
✅ Promoting UNESCO’s programs through strategic partnerships.
✅ Expanding networks via sub-committees to amplify impact.
