The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), private operator of LRT-1, has installed temporary portalets at the Vito Cruz, UN Avenue, and Pedro Gil stations to serve commuters while comfort rooms at these stations undergo repairs.
The move follows an inspection by Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez at the Pedro Gil Station, where he found the restrooms closed and being used as storage. In response, he immediately ordered the repair and reopening of all station comfort rooms to ensure clean and accessible facilities for passengers.
Lopez expressed his appreciation to LRMC for promptly addressing his directive, aligning with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s instruction to maintain comfortable and well-maintained transport facilities for the commuting public.
