The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has donated essential equipment to the Philippine Navy’s Sealift Amphibious Force to support the daily operations and well-being of personnel aboard the BRP Gregorio Velasquez (AGR702).

In a simple turnover ceremony, BCDA Vice President for Public Affairs Leilani Macasaet handed over office equipment and appliances to Commander Susan Quisido PN (GSC), Commanding Officer of AGR702. The donation aims to enhance the comfort, morale, and operational readiness of officers and crew serving on the Navy’s oceanographic research vessel.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we truly appreciate your time, your effort, and your contribution—not just for us, but for the service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” said Commander Quisido during the ceremony.

The BRP Gregorio Velasquez serves as a multi-purpose research and survey vessel of the Philippine Navy, contributing to hydrographic and oceanographic studies, environmental monitoring, and disaster response. It also plays a vital role in search and rescue operations and maritime security efforts across the country.
