Cebu Pacific (CEB) is poised to build on its strong industry position by advancing its fleet and network expansion strategies, following a year of record-breaking performance in 2024.
Speaking at the airline’s annual stockholders’ meeting, CEB Chairman Lance Gokongwei emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence and growth through strategic investments. “Our work over the past couple of years has placed Cebu Pacific in a position to take advantage of the Philippine growth story. We are confident that our airline will continue to reach new heights—thanks to the efforts of our team, our stakeholders, and your steadfast support,” he said.
In 2024, CEB recorded robust revenue growth, driven by record-high passenger volumes and a consistently strong seat load factor. To support this momentum and strengthen operational resilience, the airline took delivery of 17 new aircraft and continued the development of regional hubs across the Philippines, enabling greater access to affordable air travel nationwide.
CEB Chief Executive Officer Michael Szucs credited these investments as key enablers of the airline’s market leadership. “By seizing these opportunities, we have not only outpaced competition but also solidified our position as an industry leader,” Szucs said.
Last year’s strategic initiatives helped Cebu Pacific emerge as the top carrier in the Philippine international market, while further reinforcing its dominance in the domestic sector.
Looking ahead, Szucs expressed optimism about continued growth in 2025. He noted that early performance indicators show strong demand and market absorption of added capacity, which in turn is expected to strengthen the airline’s financial position.
He also reaffirmed CEB’s long-term confidence in the Philippine aviation industry, pointing to the country’s economic, geographic, and demographic advantages. Central to this vision is Cebu Pacific’s historic order of up to 152 aircraft in 2024—its largest to date—underscoring the airline’s commitment to driving national development and maintaining leadership well into the next decade.
