Cong Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. continues the Lazatins’ yearly Holy Week tradition of making personal donations of biscuits and juices for the Pabasa 2024, as long-time Lazatin aide Irish Llego leads the distribution in Magalang Municipality and Mabalacat City on March 21, 2024.

The biscuits and juices were received on behalf of Magalang Municipal Mayor Malu Lacson and the Magalang Municipal Council by Mr. Jomar Gonzales.  Meanwhile, on behalf of Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, the donations were received by Vice Mayor Gerald Pineda Aquino, and the Mabalacat City Council by Ms. Lita Pineda and Ms. Angela Salvador.

The distribution of biscuits for the Pabasa has been a tradition of the Lazatins since the time of Cong Pogi’s father, former Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin.

Cong Pogi has kept the tradition since he assumed office as Angeles City Councilor in 2019.

‘Cong’ is a contraction of the Kapampangan word ‘coya’/’coyang’ used to address an older male.
