Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy to chair the 51st Philippine Business Conference

Dennis Anthony H. Uy, co-founder and CEO of Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a key figure in the country’s fast-growing technology sector, is set to elevate discussions on digital connectivity and transformation as he takes the helm of the 51st Philippine Business Conference (PBC) in October this year.

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) officially announced Uy’s appointment following a resolution and unanimous approval during the first PCCI Board Meeting in January.

“We are honored that Dennis Uy has accepted our invitation to chair the conference this year. He will be fully supported by the Conference Organizing Committee as he implements his vision and agenda for this important gathering,” said PCCI President Enunina V. Mangio.

Expressing his excitement, Uy remarked, “I am deeply honored to be chosen by the country’s largest business organization to chair this conference. It’s a vital platform for exchanging ideas, fostering innovation, and shaping the future of Philippine business. It also provides an invaluable opportunity to engage with the government, a key partner in our collective growth. I look forward to meaningful discussions that will move our nation forward.”

As Director for PCCI’s IT and Telco sectors, Uy emphasized that the 51st PBC would center on the country’s digital transformation, particularly the need for improved connectivity for small businesses and households across the nation.

“I believe that access to quality connectivity is a basic necessity, not a privilege for a few. The world will be fully digitally connected by 2030, and the Philippines must be ready to embrace technological advancements that will transform lives. However, to achieve that, we must start by addressing the fundamental issue of connectivity for all—regardless of location or demographic. We cannot leave anyone behind,” Uy said.

Uy is eager to work with government agencies to develop policy recommendations that support digital transformation and infrastructure development ahead of the conference.

Since founding Converge in 2007, Uy has steered the company to a dominant position in the ICT industry. Prior to launching Converge, Uy was a “self-made industrialist” who started with a Betamax and VHS rental business in Pampanga, which later evolved into a cable television venture. He is credited with introducing Central Luzon’s first-ever data-over-cable service under ComClark Network and Technology Corporation.

In 2024, Uy was recognized with the ‘Nation-Builder’ Award by PCCI for his outstanding contributions to the ICT industry. Under his leadership, Converge has expanded nationwide, helping bridge the digital divide and strengthening the country’s ICT infrastructure.

The Philippine Business Conference & Expo (PBC&E) is the premier annual event that brings together top government officials, business leaders, industry experts, and MSMEs. It serves as a platform for policy dialogues, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities, aimed at driving economic progress across the Philippines.
