Bringing both potential employment opportunities and free connectivity to the townspeople of Alitagtag, Converge considered the full day of activities as part of its mission to leave no one behind, and at the same time make an impact in a community it serves. The training session drew in participants from all over Batangas who are also operating in Mindoro.

“This is part of our commitment to the communities where we are present. Apart from providing reliable fiber connectivity, we want to empower them by providing a source of livelihood through our program. We aim to train community members to know more about Surf2Sawa and help them improve their skills and gain confidence,” said Converge National Business Unit Head for Prepaid Conrado Pascual.

Dianara Lopez, a mother from Poblacion West, Alitagtag narrates how S2S is able to support her and her family.

S2S was officially launched in Tondo in August 2023, positioning itself as a mass market product fitting the lifestyle needs of Class D1.

“Sabi nga nila, ang produkto natin ay mura, mabilis, walang kontrata at “unli” pa. Higit sa lahat, walang data cap,” Pascual added, stressing the features of the game-changing product.

With flexible top-up options for as low as P50 for one-day service up to P700 for a 30-day unlimited connectivity, the product has gained popularity among disadvantaged households seeking to upgrade to fiber connectivity from mobile and wireless broadband.

S2S subscribers can also enjoy free streaming access to BlastTV, doing away with the need to subscribe for expensive OTT streaming services.

In 1Q2024, Surf2Sawa continued to register all-time-high quarterly gross adds – a testament to the intact and growing demand for fiber broadband across all income segments.
