Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a multipurpose building (MPB) in Talavera, Nueva Ecija that is now ready to serve as a new Senior Citizens Center.

The one-storey infrastructure is located at barangay Sampaloc.

DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st OIC-District Engineer Osias Santos said the 288-square MPB has a spacious function hall ideal for meetings, seminars, and various activities catering to the elderly in the area.

“With its completion, Senior Citizens can now make use of this facility to conveniently access essential services in a conducive environment. It is also expected to foster a sense of community and encourage engagement in other socio-civic activities,” he pressed.

The P9.8-million MPB was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act.

It features amenities such as a disability ramp, two offices, a public assistance room, file and electricity rooms, four restrooms, a pantry, and a designated area for janitorial storage. (PIA 3)
