Dengue fast lanes now open in all Bulacan public hospitals

The provincial government of Bulacan has ordered the establishment of dengue fast lanes in all public hospitals across the province.

According to Provincial Health Officer Edwin Tecson, the directive was issued to ensure swift and efficient care for patients suspected of having the disease.

Tecson emphasized the importance of these fast lanes in the early detection of symptoms, prompt treatment, and active management of cases, especially during outbreaks.

Hospitals are also instructed to ensure they have adequate supplies of essential medical equipment and medications, including intravenous fluids, diagnostic tools, and critical medications, to efficiently address the needs of dengue patients.

As per the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, Bulacan has recorded 3,610 dengue cases from January 1 to February 28, 2025.

This figure represents a 260 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Currently, 187 barangays from 24 towns and cities in the province have reported clustering, or consecutive cases, over the past four weeks. (PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
