Globe Telecom has partnered with the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) and local stakeholders to intensify efforts against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Material (CSAEM) in Zamboanga City.
The campaign brought together over 300 participants from the Department of Justice, Commission on Human Rights, NBI, PNP, and the Zamboanga City LGU, emphasizing a whole-of-community approach to child protection.
“Protecting children online requires more than technology—it demands collective action,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer. “Globe is proud to stand with IACAT and government partners to ensure every Filipino child grows up in a safer digital world.”
Empowering Communities Through Education
Globe continues to strengthen digital safety awareness through its Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), which has trained over 12,000 students in 43 schools this year on responsible digital citizenship. The MakeItSafe website and the children’s book “Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy,” co-developed with CANVAS, further equip families with tools to protect children online.
Blocking Online Threats
In the first half of 2025, Globe blocked 484 million scam and spam messages, took down 5,707 malicious domainslinked to child exploitation, and restricted access to 248,552 URLs containing child sexual abuse materials — including AI-generated content — in coordination with local and international authorities.
Its StopSpam portal also processed over 87,000 SIM reports, resulting in nearly 10,000 SIM deactivations and 77,000 blacklisted numbers across networks.
Through technology, education, and collaboration, Globe reaffirms its commitment to a safer, more responsible digital environment for Filipino children.
