MAYOR LAZATIN STARTS NEW YEAR WITH ELDERLY OUTREACH, HEALTH INITIATIVES

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. kicked off the new year with a packed schedule focused on community service, emphasizing health and support for the city’s elderly and vulnerable sectors.

At 7 a.m. on Monday, Lazatin personally distributed ₱3,000 financial assistance and Vitamin C supplements to 18 senior citizens in Barangay Lourdes Northwest, including 11 bedridden individuals and seven aged 90-99 years old.

He also led an anti-flu vaccination drive targeting seniors, pregnant women, and individuals with comorbidities, underscoring the city’s commitment to public health.

To provide additional healthcare support, free medical check-ups and laboratory tests were made available through the City Health Office, led by Dr. Verona Guevarra, and the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, headed by Rodolfo Simeon.

Lazatin also inspected the construction of new facilities at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center and monitored the vaccination program for government employees at City Hall, where he received his flu shot.

“Health is our foundation for progress. Protecting our vulnerable sectors ensures a stronger, healthier community for the year ahead,” Lazatin said.

Joining the initiative were City Councilor JC Aguas, Barangay Captain Nicanor Soriano, and Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Head Eduardo Torres. They highlighted that senior citizens in Angeles City have consistently received cash aid and essential health services under Lazatin’s administration since 2019.

The mayor reaffirmed his commitment to delivering grassroots services and prioritizing health initiatives as a cornerstone of his governance.
