The Local Government of Masantol, led by Mayor Tonton Bustos, officially lit up its Christmas lantern decorations at the municipal hall facade last December 7.
“The ceremonial lighting in our town symbolizes the bright future and hope for our Masantoleรฑos. Just like the birth of the child Jesus, Christmas is all about kids and we would like to make them happy in this season,” said Mayor Bustos.
The local chief executive furthered that he wanted to create good memories to his fellow citizens especially the youth to carry out the Christmas spirit.
Romer Melo, an 11 year-old Masantoleรฑo joined his peers to witness the ceremony and said,”we truly felt the fun because of the Christmas lanterns here in our town.”
After the countdown, all lights were lit and a fireworks display illuminated the night sky as the Mayor led the ceremony together with the Sangguniang Bayan and townsfolk.
