It will be a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for the children and elderly in the city’s custody centers and facilities as Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. sends his personal donation of gifts and cash of P22,000.

Each ward from Bahay Pagasa, batang solvent from Kanlungan ng Kabataan, kids from Home for the Girls, and elderly from Bale Pusu will receive a gift and cash from Mayor Lazatin.

The said cash donation will be used for their Noche Buena and Media Noche celebrations at the centers.

City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso expressed her gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for always having a heart for the kids and the elderly.

“May pang-noche buena at media noche na ang mga bata at matatanda sa ating mga centers. Kahit na nasa loob sila, mararamdaman din nila yung holiday season na hindi lang basta magdadaan,” Duaso shared.

“Maraming salamat po, Mayor Pogi,” Duaso added.

It can be recalled that part of the flagship programs of Mayor Lazatin is to look out for the welfare of Children in Conflict with the Law, as well as of the elderly who need a home.

It has been his personal advocacy yearly to send gifts to the custody facilities.

It was also Mayor Lazatin who established the Bale Pusu, a city-run home for the homeless elderly.
