Multi-awarded Angeleño composer Titus Del Rosario’s song performed at Malacañang

Another original composition of multi-awarded Angeleño song writer Conrado ‘Titus’ Del Rosario was performed this time by multi-awarded clarinetist Franz Jensen Andra at a concert held recently at Malacañang Palace.

This performance comes at the heels of the Del Rosario’s original “Mahal”, which was debuted by the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra during their recent homecoming concert at the Ayala Museum.

Andra played Del Rosario’s piece ‘Terakan” (Kapampangan for ‘dancing’ or ‘dance gathering’) at “Sibol”, a concert which is part of the of the Goldenberg Concert Series. Andra performed with another multi-awarded young talent, pianist Aidan Ezra Baracol, during the concert.

The concert which also featured works by Gershwin, Sarasate and other Filipino composers, was received by a standing ovation from an enthusiastic crowd with First Lady Liza Marcos, Mme. Imelda Marcos, Mrs. Irene Marcos Araneta, CCP President Kaye Tinga and other notable people.

Conrado del Rosario’s composition Terakan was commissioned by NAMCYA the National Music Competitions for Young Artists Foundation in 2023 as a competition piece for the finals in the woodwind category.

Del Rosario’s “ Zupf” for Symphonic Rondalla was performed by the Kuwerdas Filipinas Symphonic Rondalla on September 14 in Dumaguete City, on September 17 in Silay City and September 21 at Tagum City.

Meanwhile, his composition “Mahal for String Orchestra” will be presented on October 1 at the Grand Heritage House MiraNila in Quezon City.
