PUBLiCUS Asia Inc., in partnership with Laguna State Polytechnic University–Santa Cruz Campus (LSPU-SCC), energized students during the latest leg of the NEWGEN Rocks 2025! Voter Education Seminar held on April 28 at the CHTM Function Hall. The event aimed to prepare the youth for informed participation in the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections.
Senior Technical Analyst Alfred Petterwelch Lacbayo kicked off the seminar with insights on the value of voting, identifying strong leadership, and understanding key campaign issues. Quad-Media Strategist Kyla Villanueva followed with a dynamic session on fighting disinformation and understanding the link between voter rights and the democratic process.
PUBLiCUS Asia’s Director for Political Campaigns Ariel Barroga thanked LSPU-SCC for its warm reception, urging students to base their votes on candidates’ platforms and public service records. LSPU-SCC’s Office of Student Affairs Chair Dr. Christian P. San Luis also lauded the event, praising students’ participation and engagement.
The university received a Certificate of Appreciation and tokens from PUBLiCUS Asia, while student attendees received political diaries and NEWGEN Rocks! stickers. Student Election Commissioner Mary Grace Espeña Estaniel capped the program by encouraging her peers to choose leaders who can meaningfully address both local and national concerns.
The LSPU-SCC seminar is part of PUBLiCUS Asia’s broader campaign to nurture an informed, empowered electorate—building on previous successful runs at QCU, BULSU, CAVSU, and PLM.
