NUSTAR Resort Cebu marked the start of the Christmas season with a dazzling Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at The Atrium, themed “Pearl of the Holiday Season.”
A Pearl that Reflects Cebu’s Enduring Spirit
Inspired by the pearl—symbolizing resilience and transformation—the event celebrated Cebu’s strength and optimism.
“Every year, this celebration gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect on how far we’ve come,” said Mr. Sean Knights, Chief Operating Officer of NUSTAR Resort & Casino. “The pearl mirrors our journey as a community and as a resort—radiant, strong, and ever-evolving.”
Now in its fourth year, NUSTAR continued its Installation of the Stars, a signature tradition representing love, joy, peace, hope, and renewal. The Children of Cebu Foundation, Inc. (TCCFI)—this year’s beneficiary—served as star bearers, with the final New Star placed by Mr. Knights, symbolizing Cebu’s shared optimism for the future.
A Pearl of Generosity
Through its philanthropic arm, the Universal Cultural Foundation Inc. (UCFI), NUSTAR extended assistance to TCCFI to fund facility repairs and provide new equipment for the foundation’s Parian Drop-in Center, benefiting more than 30 resident and transient children.
“We are deeply grateful for NUSTAR’s partnership,” said Mrs. Margot Osmeña, President of TCCFI. “Because of partners like NUSTAR, we’ve been able to provide a home to over 6,000 children in the past 33 years.”
A Pearl of Celebration
Throughout the holidays, NUSTAR’s dining destinations offer festive menus and experiences—from luxurious Christmas and New Year’s feasts at Il Primo, Xin Tian Di, and Mott 32, to themed nights at Axis Entertainment & Sports Bar and family dining at Fina and Huangdi. Fili Café features daily holiday buffets, while NUSTAR Lobby Lounge and Fili Lobby Lounge showcase afternoon teas and handcrafted Christmas treats.
