It’s about time a modern food hub facility is set up in the Clark Freeport.

Situated in the Clark Civil Aviation Complex, the National Food Hub will be a modern facility occupying 64 hectares and will greatly benefit farmers not only in Luzon but the rest of the country.

The food hub is one of the Seven Flagship Projects of the Clark International Airport Corporation.

CIAC President Arrey Perez said the project has been approved by the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center and a feasibility study is expected to be completed this year. And by the estimate of President Perez, the project will be completed by the year 2027.

The National Food Hub is one of the major projects of CIAC and it will be a legacy project of Perez in his term as CIAC head honcho.

Perez said the National Food Hub will be accessible through the NLEX, the SCTEX and is near the Subic Freeport.

It will be a similar to France’s Rungis International Market that serves millions of customers and processes millions of tons of fresh produce, said Perez.

The development of the biggest food hub in the country is aligned with President Marcos Jr.’s vision to address food security for the nation.

Clark is the best site for the project. The facility will minimize food wastage and lower food prices, helping farmers sell their produce and serve not only local markets but eventually, international markets.
