Philippine Airlines (PAL) has earned the top spot as the most punctual airline in the Asia-Pacific region for April 2025, achieving an impressive 86.07% On-Time Performance (OTP) rating.
The recognition comes from London-based aviation analytics firm Cirium, which tracks airline punctuality globally. PAL’s strong OTP performance builds on its consistent track record in previous months—ranking second in January 2025 and October 2024, and third in March 2025, November and December 2024.
Cirium defines a flight as “on time” when it arrives at the gate within 15 minutes of its scheduled arrival. This metric is widely used in the industry to reflect operational efficiency and reliability.
“We remain dedicated to delivering dependable service, with safety at the core of all we do,” said PAL Senior Vice President for Operations, Capt. Roland A. Narciso. “This milestone reflects the commitment of our flight crews, ground staff, and partners who work tirelessly to ensure our passengers reach their destinations on time.”
In April 2025 alone, PAL operated more than 9,900 flights and served 1.3 million passengers. On April 22, the airline set a post-pandemic record by operating 337 flights in a single day.
PAL’s 86.07% OTP outperformed the Asia-Pacific top 10 airline average of 81.01% and exceeded the punctuality rates of all North American carriers included in Cirium’s April report.
Earlier in 2024, PAL also ranked as the most punctual airline globally in January with an OTP of 86.85%. It placed 7th in Cirium’s overall global OTP rankings for 2024, up from 8th in 2023.
Cirium noted PAL’s achievement coincides with improving operational conditions worldwide and a 24% drop in global flight cancellations.
