President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, witnessed the destruction of over 1,530 kilograms of illegal drugs valued at PHP9.4 billion at the Clean Leaf International Corp. waste management facility in Barangay Cutcut.

Also present earlier at the event was Tarlac Governor Susan Yap, who was invited to witness the proceedings alongside law enforcement and local officials.

Among the prohibited substances incinerated were 1,304 kilograms of shabu, worth PHP8.8 billion, some of which were recovered floating off the waters of Zambales, Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Cagayan — areas that have seen recent maritime interdiction efforts.

The destruction process involved thermal decomposition at extreme temperatures reaching 700 degrees Celsius for 10 hours, followed by a 12-hour cooling process to ensure the complete breakdown of the illegal substances.

The event highlights the government’s continuing commitment to fighting the illegal drug trade and ensuring public safety through proper disposal and accountability.
