PIA breaks ground for new office in Central Luzon

The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Central Luzon Regional Office on June 19, 2025. The new office, which marks a key step in its commitment to strengthening government communication and citizen engagement in the region, will rise inside the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center (DMGC) and is envisioned as a modern hub for the dissemination of accurate, timely, and development-oriented government information across the seven provinces of Central Luzon.

In her keynote speech, PIA Director-General Katherine Chloe S. De Castro emphasized that the event symbolized more than just the start of construction—it reflects the agency’s dedication to truthful and empowering communication aligned with the national development goals of Bagong Pilipinas.

“This facility will be a center for fast and reliable information—where truth is nurtured, where stories of progress are amplified, and where people’s voices are heard,” De Castro said.

“Sealing the time capsule sends a message to the future: that in 2025, despite challenges, we chose to rebuild—with truth, service, and nationhood as our foundation.”

PIA Regional Head William Beltran said the agency’s permanent presence at DMGC would further enhance coordination with national government agencies, reinforcing its role in delivering development communication efforts at the grassroots level.

“This event is not only the beginning of a building, but also a symbol of our strengthened commitment to public service through accurate, relevant, and empowering information,” Beltran added.

DEPDev Assistant Regional Director Dolores Molintas, speaking on behalf of RDC Vice Chair and DEPDev Regional Director Nerrisa Esguerra, described the project as a testament to PIA’s continuous efforts to foster transparency and public participation.

“This facility will boost PIA’s ability to bridge the government and the people—enabling citizens to make informed decisions and actively participate in governance,” Molintas said.

The project has an estimated budget of ₱34 million and is being implemented in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). It is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026.

Upon completion, PIA will become the 53rd agency to establish an office within the DMGC, contributing to its goal of becoming a one-stop-shop for essential government services in Central Luzon.
