Home improvement and construction retail giant Wilcon Depot is set to open a ₱700 million branch inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ), following the signing of a lease agreement with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) earlier this month.
The agreement was formalized by SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño and **Wilcon Depot, Inc. Chairman Emeritus William Belo at the SBMA administration building.
Under the agreement, the upcoming Wilcon Depot branch will be located along Sampson Road in the Central Business District, covering a 5,308-square-meter lot. The project includes the renovation of a portion of Building 640 and the construction of a dedicated showroom.
“This is a great addition to the businesses within the Freeport,” said Chairman Aliño. “With many construction companies, homebuilders, and DIY enthusiasts in the area, Wilcon Depot is expected to serve a growing demand for building materials, tiles, plumbing supplies, and other home improvement items.”
The new branch is also expected to generate 200 jobs, further contributing to the growing workforce and economic activity in Subic Bay Freeport.
