PNP, BOC renew partnership for Good Governance and Security

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Nicolas D. Torre, paid a visit to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Monday, renewing the PNP’s strong commitment to support the agency’s ongoing efforts to fight smuggling, corruption, and other national security threats.

Joining the BOC’s flag-raising ceremony, PGen. Torre emphasized the importance of continued inter-agency cooperation, praising BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno’s reform agenda as aligned with national goals.

“Being here is not just a gesture of respect — it’s a statement of unity,” said PGen. Torre, pledging the PNP’s full support in joint operations, intelligence sharing, and securing Customs personnel on the ground. “Sa bawat laban ninyo, kaagapay ninyo ang PNP… laban ito ng buong bayan.”

Commissioner Nepomuceno, in turn, thanked the PNP chief and echoed the administration’s directive to push forward reforms at Customs. “President Marcos has made it clear — our work must reflect transparency, accountability, and good governance,” Nepomuceno said. “What I started on day one, I will pursue until the end of my term.”

Also present at the ceremony were key figures from law enforcement agencies, including CIDG Director BGen. Romeo Macapaz, PRO3 Regional Director PBGen. Jean Fajardo, NBI Assistant Director Noel Bocaling, and QCPD’s Atty. Magtanggol Gatdula — showing a united front in the push for public trust and institutional reform.

The renewed BOC-PNP partnership is a crucial step in ensuring secure, transparent, and accountable public service.
