Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Nicolas D. Torre, paid a visit to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Monday, renewing the PNPโ€™s strong commitment to support the agencyโ€™s ongoing efforts to fight smuggling, corruption, and other national security threats.

Joining the BOCโ€™s flag-raising ceremony, PGen. Torre emphasized the importance of continued inter-agency cooperation, praising BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomucenoโ€™s reform agenda as aligned with national goals.

โ€œBeing here is not just a gesture of respect โ€” itโ€™s a statement of unity,โ€ said PGen. Torre, pledging the PNPโ€™s full support in joint operations, intelligence sharing, and securing Customs personnel on the ground. โ€œSa bawat laban ninyo, kaagapay ninyo ang PNPโ€ฆ laban ito ng buong bayan.โ€

Commissioner Nepomuceno, in turn, thanked the PNP chief and echoed the administrationโ€™s directive to push forward reforms at Customs. โ€œPresident Marcos has made it clear โ€” our work must reflect transparency, accountability, and good governance,โ€ Nepomuceno said. โ€œWhat I started on day one, I will pursue until the end of my term.โ€

Also present at the ceremony were key figures from law enforcement agencies, including CIDG Director BGen. Romeo Macapaz, PRO3 Regional Director PBGen. Jean Fajardo, NBI Assistant Director Noel Bocaling, and QCPDโ€™s Atty. Magtanggol Gatdula โ€” showing a united front in the push for public trust and institutional reform.

The renewed BOC-PNP partnership is a crucial step in ensuring secure, transparent, and accountable public service.
