Pag-IBIG Fund boosts financial support, housing access for Central Luzon members

Pag-IBIG Fund has enhanced its financial services for members in Central Luzon, strengthening both savings and housing access options. During the 24th episode of 𝑲𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑩𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔 hosted by the Philippine Information Agency, Brenda Cao, Department Manager of the Pag-IBIG Fund San Fernando Housing Business Center, reported that active members in the region saved a total of PHP 7.50 billion through the Pag-IBIG Regular Savings program from July 2022 to September 2024.

“This savings program provides members with a secure platform to grow their finances, offering annual dividends as a key benefit,” Cao said.

Pag-IBIG also disbursed PHP 8.20 billion in Multi-Purpose Loans, giving members quick access to funds for daily expenses and education costs. In response to natural disasters, Pag-IBIG distributed PHP 1 billion in Calamity Loans, which come with no processing fees or upfront interest to expedite aid for members in disaster-hit areas.

For housing assistance, Pag-IBIG Fund disbursed PHP 50.61 billion from July 2022 to September 2024, helping 46,823 members buy or improve homes. Of this, PHP 2.64 billion was allocated for Socialized Housing Loans, benefiting 5,635 members with interest rates as low as 3 percent to promote affordable homeownership.

Recently, Pag-IBIG announced a one-month housing loan payment moratorium for families affected by Typhoon Kristine, with eligible borrowers able to apply for this relief until December 31, 2024, through Virtual Pag-IBIG or at any branch.
