In honor of the Filipinos who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s freedom from colonial rule, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies at the Capitol Grounds, marking the 126th Philippine Independence Day.

The governor, along with Police Provincial Office (PPO) Dir., PCol. Levi Hope Basilio and Provincial Fire Marshal, FSSupt. Romeo Pepito, Jr., led the wreath-laying rites with the Republica Filipina Reenactment Group to pay tribute to the nation’s heroes.

On behalf of Gov. Delta, 1st District Board Member Win-win Garbo delivered a speech, stressing the importance of unity in nation-building.

“Alalahanin natin na ang paglalakbay tungo sa tunay na kalayaan ay isang patuloy na proseso na nangangailangan ng ating sama-samang pagsisikap at dedikasyon. Magkaisa tayo sa pagtataguyod ng isang bansa, kung saan ang bawat Pilipino ay mabubuhay ng may dignidad, pantay-pantay, at may pagkakataon para sa mas magandang kinabukasan,” said Garbo.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan board members, provincial department heads and staff attended the ceremonies to support the celebration of freedom from Spanish colonization.

The 126th Philippine Independence Day celebration in Pampanga, themed “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan,” was organized by the Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office of Pampanga (ACTOP). It featured performances by the Coro Concierto and the La Granja Moderno Dance Troupe.
