Philippine Airlines to launch nonstop Cebu–Guam flights starting December 16

Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced it will begin thrice-weekly nonstop flights between Cebu and Guam on December 16, 2025, marking the only direct air link between the two destinations. The new service complements PAL’s existing daily Manila–Guam route and strengthens Cebu’s role as a major international gateway.

Flights from Cebu will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 9:40 PM, arriving in Guam at 3:25 AM local time. Return flights will leave Guam every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 5:15 AM, arriving in Cebu at 6:50 AM. The route will be operated with PAL’s Airbus A321ceo aircraft.

PAL President Richard Nuttall said the new service “enhances Cebu’s role as a strategic gateway to international markets, while providing Guam’s large Filipino community and travelers from the U.S. Pacific territory direct access to the Visayas and Mindanao.”

Athanasios Titonis, CEO of Aboitiz Infracapital Cebu Airport Corporation, added that the route would bring economic and tourism benefits: “This not only makes island-to-island travel faster and more efficient but also creates a stronger gateway for visitors from the U.S. Pacific territories and Asia.”

The Cebu–Guam route is part of PAL’s push to expand its international network beyond Manila. From Cebu, PAL already offers flights to Ho Chi Minh, Incheon, Narita, and Osaka, plus domestic connections to key Philippine destinations.

Guam, where nearly 30% of the island’s 179,000 residents are Filipino, plays a vital role in PAL’s U.S. network, which also serves Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Honolulu.

PAL first flew to Guam in 1946 during its pioneering trans-Pacific service, becoming Asia’s first airline to reach the U.S. mainland. Nearly 80 years later, the launch of Cebu–Guam flights reaffirms the flag carrier’s historic ties with the island and its mission to connect Filipinos to the world.
