P25-M FIRING RANGE OPENS IN SUBIC FREEPORT

THE RANGE, a state-of-the-art firing range opened within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone on Tuesday, 07 January, providing gun enthusiasts and law enforcement personnel with a new venue to hone their shooting skills.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño announced that The Range (Subic Freeport Shooting Range Inc.) was built with an investment of P25 million.

The new facility, located at Corregidor Highway in the Ilanin Forest area, aims to elevate target shooting as both a sport and a profession, aspiring to produce top-tier shooters comparable to the world’s best.

The official opening of the range was attended by Aliño and other SBMA Board members, as well as leading Filipino marksmen Jethro Dionisio and Khalil Viray.

Spanning 3,000 square meters, the range occupies a former US naval building (Building 2027), which has been repurposed to include a 100-square-meter indoor range. The facility has been leased for 25 years and employs 15 staff members.

A special provision allows SBMA Law Enforcement personnel to use the facility free of charge for training.
