SBMA, Freeport workers oriented on 4PH

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) held an Orientation Caravan for the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program on October 7 and 8, 2025, at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC) to inform employees and Freeport workers about the government’s flagship housing initiative.

The 4PH Program, launched under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., aims to provide accessible and affordable housing for Filipino workers through subsidies and flexible financing options, while reducing informal settlements nationwide.

SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño urged employees to take advantage of the program, citing the convenience and affordability of the proposed housing units, especially for those living outside the Freeport.

Officials from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) discussed the program’s vision, objectives, and employee benefits, while representatives from PAG-IBIG Fund detailed the eligibility criteria, loan process, interest rates, and amortization terms. The Philippine Community Housing Corporation (PCHC) also presented site development plans, building layouts, and unit pricing.

The SBMA is currently pursuing several housing projects in line with the national program, including the ₱1-billion Subic Bay Residencias, which will feature four condominium buildings with 1,600 to 1,920 residential units for SBMA employees. The project, formalized through a lease agreement in June 2025, is expected to be completed within five years.

Another major initiative is the ₱1.1-billion dormitory complex, designed to house up to 6,000 Freeport workers, offering a convenient “home away from home” for employees working within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

These housing projects underscore SBMA’s commitment to supporting the national government’s goal of ensuring decent, affordable, and accessible homes for Filipino workers.
