The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is set to build a ₱1-billion residential complex called Subic Bay Residencias to provide affordable housing for its employees within the Freeport zone.
The project was formalized on June 4, 2025, with the signing of a lease agreement between SBMA and Philippine Community Housing Corporation (PCHC) CSE Builders Joint Venture Company Ltd., held at the SBMA administration building. SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño and PCHC General Manager Mary Grace Ocampo signed the agreement, witnessed by top government officials including DHSUD Undersecretaries Emmanuel D. Pineda and Eduardo P. Robles Jr., members of the SBMA Board of Directors, and PAG-IBIG Fund officials.
Chairman Aliño announced that Subic Bay Residencias will be built on a 20,762-square-meter property along Rizal Highway Extension in the Freeport’s Central Business District. The development will feature four condominium buildings, providing between 1,600 to 1,920 units. Each unit is priced at ₱1.8 million, with possible adjustments down to ₱1.6 million depending on location and the financial capacity of beneficiaries.
Aside from residential units, the complex will also include amenities such as parks, a swimming pool, a clubhouse, a tennis court, daycare facilities, and retail areas, making it a fully integrated community for SBMA employees.
Aliño emphasized that the total minimum investment of ₱1 billion will be implemented over a maximum period of five years, marking the first phase of several planned housing projects in Subic Freeport under the Marcos administration’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
“This project will allow employees to live closer to their workplace, saving time and money on daily commutes,” Aliño said.
SBMA previously signed a memorandum of understanding with DHSUD in May 2024 to pursue socialized housing projects for Freeport workers under the 4PH Program.
