The Securities and Exchange Commission – Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-Tarlac), in collaboration with SM City Tarlac, successfully held an Electronic Waste Collection Drive from June 23 to 27, 2025, in celebration of the 3rd Annual SEC Sustainability Week.
Spearheaded by SEC-Tarlac Director Richard R. Laus, the initiative saw the turnover of various e-waste items gathered during the weeklong campaign. The project reinforces the agency’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible waste management.

The campaign aimed to raise awareness on the importance of proper disposal of electronic waste—a growing environmental concern. E-waste contains hazardous substances that can contaminate soil and water, posing serious health and environmental risks. Proper disposal and recycling not only mitigate these risks but also help recover valuable raw materials.
The SEC’s effort, supported by SM City Tarlac, also serves as a call to action for the public to actively participate in sustainability initiatives and contribute to building a greener, more responsible future.
