The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) provided assistance to three local fishermen while conducting maritime patrol operations in the waters off Palauig Point in Zambales on March 13, 2026.

Personnel aboard the BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409), under the leadership of Commanding Officer Rockliff Buling, signaled the fishermen to approach the vessel as part of their patrol activities aimed at safeguarding the seas and maintaining Coast Guard visibility in the area.

During the encounter, the PCG crew distributed family food packs to the fishermen to provide assistance while they were at sea.

The initiative underscores the Coast Guard’s continuing efforts to strengthen its partnership with local maritime communities while carrying out its mandate to ensure safety, security, and service in Philippine waters.

The activity also highlights the PCG’s commitment to supporting fisherfolk and promoting cooperation with coastal communities during maritime patrol operations.
