Over 200 students from various schools gathered at First City Providential College (FCPC) on April 28, 2025, as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – Tarlac Extension Office brought its Investor Education Roadshow to the city, championing financial literacy and investor protection among the youth.
Participants from FCPC, La Concepcion College, and the City College of San Jose del Monte attended the one-day event, which focused on equipping students with the tools and knowledge for smart, sustainable investing and financial decision-making.

SEC Tarlac resource speakers shared key insights on the Revised Corporation Code, strategies for responsible investing, and practical ways to identify and avoid scams—a rising threat in the digital age.
“Understanding the law and how the SEC protects investors empowers young Filipinos to make informed financial choices and contribute to economic growth,” said SEC Tarlac Director Atty. Richard R. Laus.
A highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) under the SEC Communication, Advocacy, and Network (SEC-CAN) initiative, officially designating FCPC as SEC’s first academic partner in Bulacan. The collaboration aims to enhance capital market awareness and deepen the integration of financial education in schools.
“We are honored to partner with the SEC in this important campaign. It’s a meaningful step toward preparing our students to be financially literate, responsible citizens,” said FCPC President Dr. Estrella O. Simon.
With more partnerships and roadshows lined up, the SEC continues its mission to empower the next generation of investors—arming them with the knowledge to protect themselves and build a financially secure future.
