Dr. Franciso ‘Frankie’ L. Villanueva, Jr. has been reappointed as President of the City College of Angeles (CCA), effective November 7, 2024. This was announced by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.. With a background in business management and prior experience as a director at Clark Development Corporation, Dr. Villanueva’s leadership is expected to drive further progress for the city-run college.
“Under Dr. Villanueva’s guidance, I am confident that CCA will continue to see positive developments,” Mayor Lazatin shared, expressing his vision for CCA to expand its facilities, faculty, and course offerings to benefit more scholars.
During his previous term, Dr. Villanueva achieved accreditation for seven CCA bachelor programs from the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA). This accreditation qualifies CCA to receive grants and scholarships for faculty and students, support for research projects, and resources for student internship placements.
Accredited programs at CCA now include Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, Tourism Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physical Education, and Technical Vocational Teacher Education. The reappointment of Dr. Villanueva signifies a commitment to advancing quality education and opportunities for CCA scholars.
