99 Central Luzon LGUs Pass 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit

A total of 99 local government units (LGUs) in Central Luzon have successfully passed the 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Venus Rebuldela, Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), praised the achievement, highlighting the collective efforts of the LGUs in creating safe, nurturing, and rights-based environments for children in the region.

“We extend our congratulations to all the passers for their dedication to child-friendly governance. Let us continue to work together to ensure the welfare and development of our children in Central Luzon,” Rebuldela said. She also acknowledged the support of partner agencies, which play a vital role in sustaining these efforts.

The following provinces and cities across Central Luzon had LGUs that passed the audit:

📌 Nueva Ecija: 20 passers, including Cabanatuan, Muñoz, Palayan, San Jose, and municipalities such as San Leonardo, Rizal, Talugtug, and Guimba.
📌 Pampanga: 18 passers, including Angeles City, Mabalacat, and San Fernando, as well as municipalities like Magalang, Bacolor, Mexico, and Lubao.
📌 Tarlac: 18 passers, including Tarlac City and municipalities such as Pura, La Paz, Moncada, and Bamban.
📌 Bulacan: 15 passers, including San Jose del Monte, Baliwag, Malolos, and Meycauayan.
📌 Bataan: 12 passers, including Balanga City and municipalities like Pilar, Mariveles, and Samal.
📌 Aurora: Eight passers, including municipalities such as Dilasag, Dingalan, and Baler.
📌 Zambales: Eight passers, including Olongapo City and municipalities like San Antonio, Iba, and Subic.

The CFLGA is an annual, results-based assessment that evaluates the performance of LGUs in implementing programs and policies aimed at improving the welfare of children. It is recognized by the Council for the Welfare of Children and the Office of the President for the Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities Award. (PIA Region 3)
