Angeles City PESO conducts ‘Alay’ skills training

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Angeles City LGU has recently conducted the “Alay Skills Training” where 43 individuals underwent a 4-month training in dressmaking and beauty care at the PESO Training Center.

AC PESO Officer-in-Charge Ferdie Calma said the trainees graduated last September 29, at Robinson’s Place – Angeles City.

Calma said Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. seeks to hone the skills of residents in a bid to provide employment opportunities for them.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Lazatin provided livelihood for seamstresses or local “mananahis” to make facemasks.

Of the 29 beauty care trainees, three are males. The rest took the training for dressmaking.

The skills training was conducted in coordination with the JCI Angeles City “Culiat” and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
