Angeles City gov’t purchases scissor lifts for public cemetery

The Angeles City government has purchased two scissor lifts for the use of the Angeles City Public Cemetery and Crematorium. The scissor lifts, the first of its kind in Pampanga, will help ensure the upkeep and efficiency of the cemetery grounds.

Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin, Jr. said “This move reflects our commitment to improve our public cemetery’s amenities and services for our residents.”

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who is supervising the operations at the public cemetery with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, said this is in line with the aim of Mayor Lazatin to provide his constituents with a decent and dignified interment.

Philip Samson, Officer-in-Charge of ACPCC, said the scissor lifts were already delivered and available to use.

“Since apartment type po ang ating public cemetery, malaking tulong po ito sa tuwing naglilibing tayo. The machine will help us in our work,” Samson said.

In addition, Samson shared that scissor lifts are safer to use than ladders because they are equipped with safety devices that protect operators from unexpected workplace accidents or injuries.

Among the flagship projects of Mayor Lazatin since he took office is the improvement of the city’s public cemetery.

To recall, a free casket is being provided for the families of indigent residents who will face an untimely demise, where 300 indigent residents already benefited.

The city government under Lazatin’s stint also purchased two new crematorium machines for the public cemetery.

To date, the ACPCC has 2,697 niches and 193 columbariums.
