The Angeles City government clarified that it is not prohibiting motorcycle taxi companies from applying to operate in the city, emphasizing that it remains open to transport innovations provided they comply with legal requirements.

Ferdinand Calma, Public Transportation and Regulatory Officer of the Angeles City government, stressed that any company may apply, as long as it undergoes the proper process and possesses clear legal authority to transport passengers in accordance with the law.

City officials explained that the policy aims to ensure accountability among operators and establish clear mechanisms in case of accidents, complaints, or other travel-related incidents. Requiring proper permits and authorization also protects both passengers and riders, while enabling effective coordination between operators and the local government.

Authorities added that compliance with safety standards and regulations is essential to maintaining order and public trust in emerging transport services.

The city government reiterated that Angeles City remains open to modern transportation solutions — provided these are legal, organized, and safe for all.
