𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐲𝐨-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

The House Committee on Poverty Alleviation, chaired by former President and incumbent Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, convened to discuss key legislative measures aimed at strengthening assistance to vulnerable populations.

Among the proposals deliberated were:

  • HB 103 – Enhancing the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) through parent leader engagement and increased funding, presented by Rep. JC Abalos.
  • Substitute Bill to HBs 326, 1040, 1434, 2789, 3323, 3450, 3507, 4522, 4900, 5093, 5854 & 6734 – Expanding and reinforcing RA 11310, the 4Ps Act, authored by Reps. Iris Marie Demesa Montes, JC Abalos, Leila De Lima, Javier Miguel Lopez Benitez, Dante Garcia, Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, Eric Olivarez, Cheeno Miguel Almario, Rolando Ledesma Macasaet, and Jonathan Keith Flores.
  • HB 2753 – Mandating the waiver of transfer and transaction fees by financial institutions on electronic disbursements of government aid for indigent beneficiaries, proposed by Rep. Julius Cesar “Jay” Vergara.

Committee members emphasized that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to ensure effective delivery of social protection programs and financial support for marginalized families.
