On December 17, 2024, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) renewed their partnership with one of Camp John Hay’s longest-standing locators, Stern Real Estate and Development Corporation.

Stern operates the well-known Le Monet Hotel and the Filling Station food court. This partnership underscores BCDA’s commitment to ensuring business continuity within Camp John Hay and accelerating inclusive economic development while creating more job opportunities for Filipinos.

Stern, a key player in the region’s eco-tourism and hospitality sectors, has been a pillar of Camp John Hay’s success with its flagship properties—Le Monet Hotel and the distinctive Filling Station food court.

“We want to assure all our partners here at Camp John Hay that there is no need for concern. Their conditions will only improve as they continue to partner with BCDA, and this is the promise we make today with our first partner, Le Monet Hotel,” said BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang.

Engr. Bingcang emphasized that both Le Monet Hotel and the Filling Station are not just crucial to Camp John Hay’s economy, but also exemplify the type of innovative development BCDA aims to promote in the years ahead.

“This signing is more than just a formal agreement. It represents BCDA’s dedication to ensuring business continuity in John Hay. We are committed to a smooth transition and fostering a harmonious business environment for all,” added BCDA Chairperson Atty. Hilario B. Paredes.

As part of the renewed agreement, Stern has pledged to upgrade and enhance its leased properties within Camp John Hay. The improvements will align with the John Hay Special Economic Zone Comprehensive Master Plan, following strict design standards to maintain the area’s eco-tourism and commercial vision.

The partnership was officially sealed with the signing of the agreement by Engr. Bingcang and Stern Executive Vice President Eric Owen Singson, Jr., marking the beginning of a promising chapter in Camp John Hay’s growth and development.
