BDO Unibank (BDO), together with the Credit Card Association of the Philippines (CCAP), recognized Barangay Bel-Air officials for their role in helping authorities apprehend scammers using illegal IMSI catcher devices, which intercept mobile communications to facilitate fraud.
The recognition came after the Philippine National Police–Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) led an operation last year following unusual cellular signals in the area. Through signal triangulation and close coordination with barangay officials, authorities were able to locate the source of the signals and identify the suspects.

BDO plans to hold additional community workshops to educate the public on identifying fraud schemes, securing personal information, and reporting suspicious activities.
The bank emphasized the importance of multi-sector collaboration between private institutions, government units, and law enforcement in preventing scams and protecting the public from evolving criminal tactics.
