Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno has once again emphasized the strict enforcement of the agency’s “No Take” policy, which prohibits all forms of bribery and illegal monetary transactions. As part of the BOC’s ongoing anti-corruption campaign, the Commissioner made it clear that any act of corruption—whether by BOC personnel or external stakeholders—will not be tolerated under his watch.
“This policy is non-negotiable. It will be upheld from day one of my term until my last day in office,” Nepomuceno said in a firm statement.
He called on all stakeholders—including importers, customs brokers, and trade industry participants—not only to follow the rules but to actively support the push for clean and transparent governance. He stressed that the policy’s effectiveness relies not only on internal enforcement but also on the integrity and discipline of those who interact with the Bureau.
“We cannot win the fight against corruption if stakeholders continue to offer bribes or engage in under-the-table deals,” he warned. “This is a shared responsibility. Everyone—inside and outside the Bureau—must commit to the same standards of honesty and accountability.”
Commissioner Nepomuceno also urged the private sector to report any form of misconduct or corruption attempts they may encounter. “Let this be clear: those who choose to engage in corrupt practices, regardless of their position, will be held accountable,” he added.
The Bureau of Customs remains committed to promoting a culture of integrity, professionalism, and public accountability. With the active cooperation of its partners in the private sector, the BOC aims to ensure a fair, transparent, and law-abiding trade environment for all.
