Barangays Balibago and Malabanias have received dog pound accreditation from the Angeles City Veterinary Office as part of the city’s continuing push for responsible pet ownership and humane animal management.

The consultation and accreditation awarding were conducted on February 2 in coordination with City Veterinarian Dr. Mario Samson Jr. and Councilor Marino Bañola, chair of the Committee on Animal Welfare. The activity was led by Barangay Balibago Captain PG Joseph Ponce and Barangay Malabanias Captain Luz Nava.

City officials emphasized the importance of ensuring that barangay dog pounds comply with established standards for proper animal care, safety, and welfare.

Through the consultations and accreditation process, the City Veterinary Office aims to ensure that local dog pounds meet required guidelines, supporting public safety while promoting humane treatment of animals across Angeles City.
