Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) is leading efforts to rebrand the 2,200-hectare Clark aviation complex as the “Aviation Capital of the Region,” emphasizing holistic urban development and global competitiveness.

Speaking during the December edition of Pampanga Press Club’s News@Hues at Park Inn Radisson Clark, CIAC President Joseph “Jojit” Alcazar outlined the corporation’s seven flagship projects. These initiatives are designed to bolster Clark’s position as a premier aviation and logistics hub in the Philippines, integrating logistics, aviation, and business tourism.

“We are redefining CIAC’s purpose beyond the airport itself to encompass developments supporting the entire aviation complex,” Alcazar said.

Key among CIAC’s initiatives is the 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐮𝐛, which aims to create business opportunities for farmers and growers by enabling them to expand their market reach and export products. The project, currently under study by the Asian Development Bank, is set to accept public-private partnership (PPP) proposals in 2025, with a target launch during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration. The food hub is also envisioned as a ‘Halal hub for the Asia-Pacific region’, addressing an underserved market in food production.

Alcazar highlighted other transformative projects, including:
✅International Convention Center and Sports Arena: To position Clark as a world-class meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) destination.
✅ Clark Heritage Park and Public Realm: Part of the Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program, integrating rain catchments for water recycling and flood mitigation.
✅ International Aviation Campus: Addressing skills mismatches in the aviation industry by collaborating with TESDA and attracting international educators and investors.

CIAC is also focusing on horizontal infrastructure, including the detailed design of new road networks and a direct access link to SCTEX, expected to be completed in six months. Future-proofing the Clark International Airport (CRK) is also underway with improvements to Runway 2 and 3 to accommodate anticipated growth.

In support of global sustainability goals, the CIAC is pursuing the Airport Carbon Accreditation Program to minimize carbon emissions.

Alcazar revealed plans for the Clark Aviation Capital Center, an iconic structure that will house commercial spaces, offices, and the relocated CIAC headquarters.

“These developments position Clark as a globally competitive aviation complex and enhance its role as a vital economic driver for Northern Luzon,” Alcazar emphasized.

CIAC’s ambitious projects reflect a commitment to sustainable growth, economic development, and elevating Clark’s status as a regional aviation powerhouse.
