Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) mobilized a bayanihan mission to Casiguran, Aurora on December 3 to deliver much-needed aid to the Agta community heavily affected by Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong).
Held in Sitio Dipontian, Barangay Cozo, the “Bayanihan sa Casiguran” initiative focused on helping the Agta Tribe rebuild homes and a damaged school, underscoring CIAC’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in the aftermath of major disasters.

CIAC provided essential construction supplies such as paint, fiber cement boards, corrugated roof sheets, cement, gloves, brushes, rollers, hand saws, and hammers. An additional 50 bags of rice were donated by the CIAC Provident Fund Inc. (CPFI) and the CIAC Employees’ Association Inc. (CEAI).
The outreach was supported by the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport (APECO), ensuring the smooth delivery of assistance. Super Typhoon Uwan had earlier devastated nearly 4,000 homes across Aurora, with Casiguran—particularly Sitio Dipontian—among the most severely hit, recording over 1,100 damaged houses and school facilities.
The Agta of Casiguran, or the Casiguran Dumagat, form part of the Negrito groups residing in the eastern Sierra Madre. Construction materials and rice were personally turned over to community members through Agta tribal leaders and APECO Community Relations Officer Luzed Anne Jandoc.
The initiative highlights CIAC’s broader mission of nation-building: even as it develops Clark as an aviation capital, the corporation remains committed to uplifting communities and contributing to meaningful social impact and disaster recovery.
