CONVERGE BACKS BRIGADA ESKWELA, PROMOTES DIGITAL SAFETY FOR TEACHERS

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. reaffirmed its commitment to education and digital safety as it supported the opening of the new school year through Brigada Eskwela and an anti-scam seminar for educators at Anunas Elementary School in Angeles City.

More than 20 Converge employee volunteers helped clean and repair classrooms and donated cleaning supplies to prepare a safe and welcoming environment for the school’s 3,000 students. The activity is part of the company’s ongoing community impact efforts aligned with its sustainability goals.

In addition to helping improve school facilities, Converge partnered with ScamWatch Pilipinas to conduct an anti-scam seminar for teachers and school staff. The session addressed common online threats like phishing, love scams, identity theft, and fraudulent online shopping, equipping participants with practical knowledge to protect themselves in the digital space.

Jay-Anne Encarnado, Converge VP and Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations, emphasized the company’s holistic support for the education sector. “We stand with the education community by lending not only our time, but also our expertise,” Encarnado said. “Helping teachers stay safe online is a cause we care deeply about.”

School leaders praised the initiative. “We’re truly blessed to have Converge return for Brigada Eskwela,” said Principal Victoria Torres. “This is more than volunteer work—this is genuine support for both our students and staff.”

Converge previously engaged with Anunas Elementary School through its Project PIGLET program, which teaches digital literacy and responsible online behavior to young learners.

The effort supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Quality Education and Poverty Reduction, reinforcing Converge’s mission to empower communities and bridge the digital divide.
