Cebu Pacific, the Philippinesโ leading airline, is set to enhance its pilot training capabilities with the addition of an Airbus A330neo full-flight simulator (FFS) at its joint training facility with CAE in Clark, Pampanga.
Announced during the Paris International Airshow, the new simulator is part of an expanded agreement between Cebu Pacific and CAE, solidifying their long-term partnership through the CAE Philippines joint venture. The A330neo FFS is expected to be operational by December 2026 and will join the existing A320 and ATR 72-600 simulators currently in use at the Clark training center.
Javier Massot, Cebu Pacific Chief Operations Officer, said the simulator is a strategic addition to support the airlineโs expanding widebody fleet.
โBeing the largest A330neo operator in Asia, this simulator boosts our training capacity and ensures safe operations as our network and fleet continue to grow.โ
Cebu Pacific currently operates 11 A330neo aircraftโthe largest such fleet in Asiaโand expects more deliveries in the coming months.
Michel Azar-Hmouda, Division President for Commercial Aviation at CAE, emphasized the importance of the move:
โThe addition of the A330neo simulator reinforces our commitment to high-quality pilot training and strengthens our role as a premier aviation training hub in the Asia-Pacific region.โ
Since launching their joint venture in 2011, Cebu Pacific and CAE have trained hundreds of pilots using state-of-the-art simulators, helping develop aviation professionals in the Philippines and beyond. This latest investment marks another step in building a world-class aviation training ecosystem in Clark.
