The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Provincial Government of Pampanga strengthened their partnership following the courtesy visit of DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. to Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda on January 21, 2026.
During the meeting, proposed agricultural projects were discussed, including the establishment of small rice complexes, planting on government-owned properties, and the construction of irrigation systems to boost food security in the province.

The discussion also covered Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs), with an emphasis on involving farmers in project implementation to ensure that developments address their actual needs.
Following the meeting, Secretary Laurel visited the Command and Control Center in Barangay Sindalan, where he reviewed the Capitol’s provincial agricultural data system. Executive Assistant IV Angelina Blanco presented the integrated platform featuring farmer profiles and GIS mapping of farmlands across Pampanga.
The DA commended Pampanga’s innovation and is currently studying a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for data sharing once the system is fully completed.
At present, more than 44,000 farmers in Pampanga are registered under the RSBSA.
