The Department of Justice (DOJ) has confirmed the cancellation of passports belonging to former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Alice Guo associate Cassandra Li Ong, and three other individuals linked to a human trafficking case. The Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 157 issued the orders, citing that the accused are fugitives from justice, DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez said.

“Any accused whose passport has been cancelled is barred from leaving the country and restricted from exercising their constitutional right to travel. If abroad, they can no longer exit foreign borders or travel to another state,” Martinez explained.

Warrants of arrest have been issued for Roque and Ong in connection with the case. Roque has not returned to the Philippines, while Ong has been unlocated since her release by the House of Representatives after her contempt citation was lifted.
