Nearly 2,000 disadvantaged and displaced workers in Tarlac province benefited from the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) from January to December 2025.
DOLE Tarlac reported that 1,886 workers from various municipalities were provided temporary employment during the period, in coordination with local government units (LGUs) and other government agencies. A total of ₱11,577,270 in wages was released to program beneficiaries.

DOLE Tarlac Senior Labor and Employment Officer Jumel Vitao said the beneficiaries included workers from the disadvantaged sector aged 18 years old and above. Detainees from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Tarlac City and Camiling were also employed under the program.
TUPAD projects in the province focused on community development activities such as street sweeping, canal and environmental clean-up, vegetable gardening, tree planting, and the painting of public facilities.
Vitao assured the public that the TUPAD program will continue in 2026, in partnership with LGUs through their Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs).
Through TUPAD, DOLE Tarlac continues to provide temporary employment opportunities to disadvantaged workers as part of the government’s efforts to support vulnerable sectors.
